I’m getting married next year, and my fiance and I were shopping for his wedding band the other day. He really likes the look of tungsten rings, but the saleslady at the jewelry store told us tungsten rings were not able to be engraved because the metal is so hard. She said everyone she knows that tried to get it engraved is not happy with it because it does not look good. I have found mixed results when I tried to look it up online. Does anyone have a ring made of tungsten that is engraved? Or did you try to engrave any rings? What were the results? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I bought my husband a tungsten ring at http://www.larsonjewelers.com/ before we got married. We had them engrave our rings before we bought them and they look wonderful. I don’t understand why the saleslady says they can’t be engraved.
We were looking at tungsten rings before we learned that they cannot be resized. I would assume that if you cannot resize them, they cannot be engraved well either.
Regular tungsten rings do not engrave well, but Tungsten Carbide rings can be engraved very nicely with a laser.

They can be laser engraved.
Here is almost the same ring that my fiance picked out for himself. As you can see, the design is laser engraved.
